Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Well......... I'm in the flashing mood. I'm DLing Res. Remix and AOKP right now. Gonna give them a test run and see how they do. Definitely gonna keep my old trusty backup of MOAR for sure! Seeing as it's the 1st ROM to ever pick up 4G with decent speed, that ROM will stay on my sd card permanently.

I haven't tried the Res Remix so this is gonna be interesting. As for AOKP, I've loved that ROM since the 1st time I ever ran it.

Tried slim. Didn't feel like adjusting that crazy small font. Lol. I'll give resurrection a shot.

Not yet. I'll download that one while I also download res. :)

Thanks guys.

Me either it's not my cup of tea but some people like it lol but resurrection remix is great lol

Resurrection is great it's like Moar ton of little features your notice the more you run it for example the custom wallpaper and custom ring tones and the way they use the dark ui is pretty cool

I flashed Resurrection Remix last night and like it so far. Unfortunately i've been working on my car most of the day so I haven't been able to dig into the ROM and check out all of its features yet. I plan on checking it out tonight.

Guess what's coming to town?

Also... from rompnit on xda. " MOAR will definitely be updated to 4.4."

If you get a notification for the OTA, try to accept it and it will just fail. No biggie. The challenge will be getting 100% Knox free on 4.4, as Sammy deeply embedded it into many apks/jars; even something as simple as the Wallpaper Chooser contains Knox code, at least it does on the S5.
There are a few things for certain...
 • 4.4 may never be "Knox-less", but we can temper it and make it painless.
 • MOAR will definitely be updated to 4.4.
 • Sammy will dummy down the S3 update, so we will ensure that a bunch of S5 'features' will be included ;)

guys,
you were all so helpful in the past! i ran wicked sensations for a few months and then tried cyanogenmod 11 again and, lo and behold, i found the solution for my data issues and just about everything is running smoothly. there are just a couple of things that are confusing me and i'm wondering if anyone knows a quick solution.

first of all, my internal sd card says it's almost entirely full but when i check all the folders there's almost nothing in them. i can't figure out if it's formatted wrong or if there's something hidden somewhere but it makes no sense to me and it's stopping me from being able to install certain new things. is there something i missed?

secondly, i have no voicemail and i was wondering how to reinstall the boost vm on cyanogenmod or how to get it setup to work. my phone says it has three voicemails but when i click on the notification i get a busy signal. there doesn't seem to be an app either. i downloaded an apk for a boost vm app but it won't install because of the first problem :(

if anyone has some insight on these issues i would GREATLY appprecaite it!
other than that, my battery life has more than doubled and the phone is so much faster! so glad i finally got here!!

On the storage issue. I've ran across quite a few people who've had this problem. You need to save your internal data to a pc. Then wipe your internal storage and transfer the data that you saved to your pc back to the internal storage. That should fix your problem.

2nd. The voicemail doesn't work the way it's supposed to when using it with an AOSP ROM . When you try and listen to your messages with the app is usually cause a nasty squealing noise through the speaker. Usually the only way this can be stopped is to reboot your phone or use an app like fast reboot.

There's a way around this. Install the voicemail.apk I'm posting. Place it on your SD card tap on it and install. Open the app and go into its settings. Choose the option to forward voicemail to your email. This will notify you by email when you have a voicemail. Then, instead of using the voicemail app to listen to your voicemail, use your dialer and longpress 1.This will take you to your Boost voicemail which will not cause the nasty squealing noise.

I hope this helps you. It's the way I've been using the voicemail.apk for awhile now.

i tried to move everything over to my pc. even with the internal sd completely empty it still says that it is almost completely full. the major issue is that it doesn't allow me to update my recovery or make a backup because it says there is no space. i don't know if i can reformat it or something. i feel like i might have to start from scratch but i'm obviously a bit wary of doing this if i don't have to. i can't do anything else at this point until i figure out what the problem is with the internal storage. i'm going to try to figure out a way to back it up somehow if i can and then start over unless there are other suggestions. as always, thank you so much for your time. i genuinely appreciate it.

i ended up wiping everything. i did a backup on my sdcard but then it said it wasn't there. luckily, i have everything so backed up on google and nova that it takes no time to start from scratch. as of right now, it is still reinstalling everything, but i have almost the entire internal sd available so the problem seems to be fixed. now on to the voicemail! thanks for all the info.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Now you know why keeping copies of everything on a pc, Ext HD, or cloud is so important.

I just messed around with an S5 and I was actually impressed. Not so much at the specs and speed and stuff but at the icon and UI change. After looking at the pics and videos I didn't think I did like them at all, but it was really a pleasant change from the cartooney looking TW we currently have now. I also liked the layout a lot better as well. Not that I would drop everything and rush out and buy one, but if I didn't have an S3 right now I would probably get the S5.

All that said, I'm now like a giddy lil kid at x mas or a birthday waiting for the new S5 MOAR to see what it has in store. If it's anything like the S5 setup and icons I'll be going on it for sure.

Just outta curiosity, is there by chance an eta?

Yesterday CNexus got a copy of the OTA update and he's already working on the new ROM with rompnit. ..
So it's in the works!

Sweet. Can't wait. Of course it's gonna seem like forever due to anticipation now, but I'm looking forward to it for sure

Due to anticipation it's going to be longer than forever because I'm sure it ain't gonna be easy getting all the Knox crap out, that's probably going to be the longest and hardest part of building the whole rom. that knox crap is in almost every system app and file

I don't know how well this guy knows the truths behind the scenes but he makes it sound like it's going to be sooner than later and that sounds great for me...

Rollout started first thing yesterday morning. CNexus got his hands on a copy of the OTA and we can expect a rooted de-knoxed version within the next couple days.

Sent from my BlackedOut VM GS3 running MOAR powered by DKP

I'm looking forward to its release and giving it a try. Those guys have their hands full and I'm sure they're hard at work on it.

Edit: I've read they actually may not be able to get all of Knox removed since it's everywhere but they will to make it so that it doesn't bother anything.

I'm looking forward to their posts and what they have to say about building it.

Yeah I read that too I hope they can bring at least a few s5 features to our version because I watched a video of the s3 running 4.4 and the only noticeable changes are the white coloring in the status bar, the camera icon is now on the lockscreen, you get full lockscreen album art and emojis so that's pretty stale not to complain just saying for a 4.4 update I'm surprised that they even released 4.4 for the old s3 lol that's a plus

I believe we're supposed to get it this month if not earlier next month but I feel the same way I get nostalgic over new phones and leaving the old one behind especially because boost only gets a few good ones every year, but I don't really have my sights on the s5 because I'm sure by Xmas time they'll have a better phone lol
