Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

I know. I'm just being cautious is all. Hearing and seeing these bricks and more this data issue I just wanna be extra careful. In my particular situation (wb can attest to this) I don't have a pc/laptop nor do I have any acess to one, so in my particular instance I HAVE to be cautious as I don't have the luxury of having the safety net of apc or odin.
I have access at times but it's very very spuratic and limited to when I have access to it, such as today. .... the oppotunity just happened to be there.

If not for that I'd go for it all in, but sadly that's not the case. ....wb and Smith know what I'm talking about.

Yeah I know where your coming from just being cautious, but i updated to 4.4 tw yesterday and I'm not having any issues at all actually my signal seems better I usually run asop roms so I'm out of the tw loop but on asop roms my signal was really weak and I couldn't even make phone calls without it dropping in my area because I only get 1x in my house and now that I'm on tw 4.4 my data stays solid and fast even on 1x and the phone calls haven't been dropping I updated my prl and got the new prl when I was on 4.3 and that didn't even help me so it might just be the modem

Kinda sucks you have limited access but I think if you get the chance to you should update I barely pay attention to tw roms and I didn't brick mine I just followed the steps I posted and used the links wb posted download the ndc tar and flashed in the pda slot and the rest is history if your going to get a custom recovery download philz.tar and also flash that in the pda (after your rom boots up and you go back into download mode) and I'm happy I updated because now I can run custom 4.4 tw roms that are only going to get better and always be able to go back to completely stock minus the custom recovery

Not sure. I haven't read anything where it was still trying to be cracked. Several good Devs have tried and ended up bricking.

If you are currently not on Knox, and flash the tar, and stop there, Knox will in fact remain intact. And yes, folks have pretty much relented on cracking Knox. My prediction is one of the geniuses like chainfire will eventually find a way to reset the trip counter like he did with triangle away, but for the near future, Knox is here to stay.

I just temporarily installed Moar 9 and did a check for updates. I still get the notification for 4.4, so Boost has not pulled it yet for me.

Speaking of Radio problems, I just read where Sprint has issued an URGENT UPDATE for the HTC M8. This is because some folks have completely lost their data after a recent previous update. I guess these things do happen.

If you were running MOAR 9 the update would have been from Sprint, not Boost.. same thing sort of I know but just though I would throw that out there. ;)

I downloaded that just now after seeing this post. Problem is, it isn't showing squat. It shows the GPS service is on, but it's not showing any reports of any GPS signal anywhere. :(

Was it working and this happened all of a sudden or has it been like this since you installed the rom? Is the GPS icon even showing up in the status bar? On one of the CM11 nightlies I tried the other day when I tried to use the GPS the icon wouldn't show and my phone would freeze up. I gave up and went back to AOKP and everything was fine though.

The 6-14 nightly is out. http://goo.im/devs/aokp/d2lte/nightly

Brother in law has an s4 and said the 4.4 update for his they had to stop, but he had no issues. It's been reported the touch screen of the phone went completely out of some phones.
He's on att, but still that would suk. Think I'd rather have no data than no screen.

Anyways hope this is a comfort to those having data issues, it could be worse :D

Hello, I'm LS 6-7 version, just flashed it about a week ago. I'm using gosms and having some issues where some texts are not appearing for hours, sometimes days after their sent. When I was on the 5-11 version I never had any issues. Was there some kind of SMS zip that addressed this issue. I thought when I was on the 5-11 version that I flashed some kind of SMS fix? Thanks for your help.

Did you flash the APN fix after flashing the rom?

The GPS icon does show. the problem is it won't do anything. It just sits there... and on top of it it seems that more than TW, it's having the irritating behavior of corrupting my microSD card on purpose now.

So how would I update this thing? Have the updates addressed any of this behavior by chance? :(

Thanks for the verification about Knox staying untripped as long as you go no further than flashing the update.

This addresses the comment about issues with signal loss on AOSP based ROMS.

This isn't a new issue. I've noticed this since the 1st time I ran CM7 on my Prevail. I am able to see things like this because of the limited signal around my house. TouchWiz ROMS usually always have better signal strength. That's a fact.

I'm looking forward to this update they are going to release. Hopefully it will increase signal strength.

As for the modems. I've ran both NDC and ND8. I get better reception with NDC. Some have said that they see no difference. As I mentioned earlier. I am able to notice even the slightest signal difference where I live.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! :D

:):):)

I'm not sure what the update fixes. I also haven't had any of the issues you're describing. Weird huh? I would start over, wipe everything, and clean flash.

No, I didn't. I've been using the rom for about a week now. Will it hurt to flash it now? Do I clear caches too?
I did flash the apn fix on the previous version of LS, does that have to be flashed when doing a reset to install a new rom?

I'm not sure I always flash it immediately after flashing the Google apps package before first boot per Wetbiker's instructions. I've also never used LS. Did you dirty flash the latest update?

Yep. APN FIX should be flashed after a ROM change

Where can I get the updated version of apn fix. I found the old one but did not see the updated one. If you could link to that, that would be great. Thanks

Look under the AOSP section of this thread and look for 4G FIX. You can't miss it. It will take you were you need to be.

Don't feel dumb. No there isn't. You'll have to restore a backup or flash a Touchwiz based rom.
Well, right now I'm getting really horrible signal where I live. And boost's tech support is insisting that I try updating my PRL and profile. Problem is that the last touchwiz rom I did have will start nagging me inside of five minutes to get knox'd up.

I don't know if there have been any such updates, but I imagine that as soon as I then go back to AOKP or anything similar, I lose those updates again anyway.

You only have to install the rom long enough to do the profile and prl update. So the update nag really shouldn't be much of an issue. After doing the update switch back to whatever AOSP rom you want.

But if there is an update to said profile or PRL... how do I bring it back to AOKP?

Asop roms are notorious for bad signals so that's why your signal is so bad so it's not a guarantee updating your prl and profile will improve it

To update your prl and profile
1 go back to a tw rom
2 go under settings
3 click the more tab
4 then click system update
5 there will be 4 opinions
Update prl
Update profile
Are the two you need

6 flash back to your Asop rom(Aokp) the prl and profile is on the networks side because it deals with data and signal strength so this update you just did will stay(carry over)
Keep in mind Your signal may(probably will) still be weak just because your running a Asop rom it's a issue that's been going on with Asop roms since cm7

Huh... what do you know? there was an updated PRL. 33031 instead of 33030 which I recall seeing forever.

And if the signal has been that way for this long, why hasn't it been addressed across four major revisions now?

Well I learned a valuable lesson. AOSP nightly roms are not reliable enough when you run a business with your phone. I lost all sound in AOKP 5-24 for some reason. I didn't hear my phone ringing.Rebooting fixed it temporarily but it happened again. I think it has to with the voicemail app but I couldn't mess around so I restored my MG2 backup. My WS backup wouldn't work. *sigh*

So I'm thinking about installing NDC tonight but I'm so worried about having signal problems. 1st world problems lol.
