There is another recovery out there called COT (cannibal open touch). But it hasn't been ported to the S3. I just tried it on my nexus 7(2013).
Also there is a working clockworkmod touch for the s3, so cwm is not strictly non touch.
You can get clockworkmod touch recovery Here just scroll down to the sprint one. It works.

I'm just referring to TWRP for the S3, it had an issue of not being able to access eternal SD only an older version would

I'm not dumping bro, I just didn't want someone to see that it works fine and try to use it then get disappointed. Guides never have bad intentions. Its easy for a new user to read an s3 thread and see something but totally miss that they were talking about a different phone. You will rarely (actually never) see staff members "dumping" on people. I was just clarifying. :cool:

Madbat was rite just informing no worries I never witness him throwing hate towards me or anyone. Its all part of what he is supposed to do as he feels suitable to others so theres no confusion over the topic its called constructive critisium with the intents to clean without harm just as I am only doing here we all like getting along its better and easier :) there's nothing wrong bout being wrong that's why we all are here to learn.
Heck I know I make mistakes been when I know I'm wrong I will man up to them no worries lets have fun n keep smiling.
 
Is there a reason for the newest builds of AOKP to flash something to the recovery partition?
I get a warning in Philz Touch when I try to install the newest nightly build for some AOSP testing that it's warning me that there's something about it trying to flash the recovery portion. So far I've denied it from doing so, but it appears that in doing so, it never finishes installing.

So, what's the deal? Does anyone know why AOKP wants to flash something to my Recovery partition?
 
So I haven't been changing roms in a while but I'm getting tired of the inconsistency with Omni rom so I said today I'll go back to conquest only to look at the thread and see it's closed and wicked x isn't receiving anymore updates man guess we're just out of luck for tw roms

Going to try tribute rom sucks conquest development is pretty much done
 
Top of the day good sir hiiiipowers I'm sorry over the problems ur having u may want side with bliss stalk I just changed to that one n loving it with all of its loaded options , with minimal errors that I refuse to say anything about cause being easily solved n the fact the options in this rom is just plain awesome

The Conquest links are still working here at AF. I just checked them. Both full build 9 and 9.5 update are good to go. Also, Moon had mentioned that he very well may release another update on his developer's page. :thumbup::thumbup::D

Just a heads up........ If you don't have the full 9 build and the 9.5 update, you might want to go ahead and grab them. Moon has been nice enough to keep them up for everyone. I'm not sure if or when he will pull them. I had been testing his betas so I went ahead and grabbed the public releases.

As for non TouchWiz based ROMs, have you tried Bliss Stalk? I recommend it if you haven't yet given it a try. :)

Yeah I got 9 yesterday but the 9 5 build wasn't working yesterday
Thanks man I was getting a little sad because the last post I read on the vm side on the 27th said development was stopped because of the complaining of everyone good to know he might change his mind and no I haven't I'll have to download it in a few days I'm just going to stay on a tw based rom for now because of stability I know everything works

But do keep in mind everyone not everyone has the same taste as I do. All I can suggest is do a backup of what have installed I made a clone and backup so if I don't liike that rom I can always go back to where I was hope this helps ya brutha…

Yeah I'll go download bliss stalk I've tried and used many asop roms probably almost every asop rom we have expect for the one you just named

the issues don't really bother me that much because I know the builds are nightlys and issues and aren't stable so I just roll with it but at the same time you get tired of dealing with them so I switched to Omni rom the builds always seemed a little smoother I'm sure because of the minimal features not that many bugs to work out but I been on Omni rom for probably 3 months
I just got a little tired of the inconsistency between those builds and switching to liquidsmooth, AICP and beanstalk some builds were good others no so much then it started taking forever to boot randomly rebooting little issues here and there so that's why I was going back to a tw rom I really don't like them but at least they're stable

For tw Roms, I tried wicked x and it was pretty wild. So much going on it felt like my phone was a slot machine hitting jackpot all the time. Lol. I ran it for a week, tons of themes and mods for it too.

UPDATE!!!!!

I have a feeling a good many of you are going to love this one.

You will need a Chromecast and an app like LocalTraction. I use the paid version of AllCast. Both can be found on Play.

R3pwn has hooked us and and we can now screen mirror with our S3. This includes playing games and all. If you see it on your phone you'll be able to see it on your television. Here is the main thread with the link to his mod. Please be sure to hit the THANKS tab.

I also want to give some mad props to Ab5tracktion and his 4.4.4 d2lte nightlies thread in the VM section. I originally read the info in his thread when he added the link to the Screen Mirroring Enabler. He and the guys there helped me out a lot and I owe them a huge shout out! Just a heads up. I had to read the OP and then go to the last post and read quite a few pages to get all the info I needed. FYI, I did end up having to enable all three options in the mod to get the screen cast option in Chromecast. Sound is working great too for the time I used it. There may be slight lag occasionally but it didn't affect the fast paced game I was playing. Chromecast also has an option to help with lag if you experience any.

Mine worked great. Being able to play a game on my wide screen via my phone was minus wires was the awesome.
