Root [Boost Mobile] WP7 Rom boot time

Any particular reason why the WP7 rom takes so long to boot?:flute:

First boot takes a while rebuilding dalvik, other boots are,,, I wouldn't say slower then stock, its just poor zte programming and the best Chev could do at the time =).

just open framework-res.apk with 7-zip or winrar and pull the files. then edit and drop back in :) works like a charm

the files reside in res/drawable-hdpi/

and the files are

indicator_code_lock_point_area_green.png

Is that normal boot time? That's pretty long 60 seconds is long for any custom rom

eating my words guys, I did a factory data reset and wiped dalvik, the first boot was a minute (expected because of the dalvik wipe) after that I average 30-32 seconds every time (did two more boots to confirm) (phone off to lock screen loaded up).

I went back to b08c stock with nothing added, wiped dalvik and got exactly the same times, first boot was about a minute, after that 30-32 seconds every time.

Then, just for giggles I restored shinjitsu and did a factory data reset and rebooted three times. First boot was just over a minute, second and third boots were 33 and 30 seconds.

the roms all booted EXACTLY the same, which is interesting because shinjitsu is based on b08 and the other two are stock b08c and wp7 is based on b08c too...

lesson learned, it's the apps that slow down your boot... and I have a lot, facebook, voice assistant etc that I know have processes loading at boot.

Wow, I guess I am the only one with a boot time of almost 4 mins. When I first saw this thread I figured it was, normal or due to the fact at release there were still kernel issuses. Hmmm.... Anyone have any troubleshooting ideas for me? I have alot of apps installed (93 user apps) but that is still a bit excessive for a boot time.

I have shinjitsu which booted in about 25secs for me... now with 123 apps its like 1min 30secs...

When booting Android, any apps that you have that are not running get cached as a background process. Does this mean it eats up ram? By no means, its cached through the phones internal memory. What slows down boot is all the apps you have that are foreground run-time level process'. Those apps get stored in ram, which gives android less ram to boot from. I'm sure there is an app or something that you can use to choose what process start's at boot, which would minimize the load. Thus making your device boot faster, and reduce lag once it has fully booted

For almost every app there is a process and a service, the more process' and services each app has the more ram it has to use. Like SPB Launcher, i think it has 2 process' and 2 services +Widgets and totals about 18Mb ram usage. That is huge for an android app!
