Root [Boost Mobile] ZTE Handset Software Update Tool not working

I'm trying to run the handest software update tool to update to B08 and it will not connect with my phone no matter what I do. I have the phone in FTM mode connected by USB and the program just keeps telling me "failed to scan the handset information" anyone helpz pwease?

Install the drivers for FTM mode, additionally you may need to change USB Ports.seems the update tool is rather finicky about Ports
