Root Boot Animation

[anaphora68]

If anyone wants to change the bootanimation, it is stored in the System/Media folder.

Just an FYI.

I remember someone asking for this. Its the droid x teaser commercial
Here

[Fabolous]

I wouldn't mess with the animation in /system/media

You never needed root to change the boot animation, just push to /data/local instead. The phone will always look there first, then in /system/media

In the system media folder there is an audio file called bootup that does the droid sound. That tells me we should.have shound during boot but don't. Anyone know how to get that working?

Copying the boot animation and boot sound files from /system/media to /data/local did nothing...

Not that this is a dreaded thing I must have, but it would be pleasing for those 2 seconds.
