Root Boot animation?

I'm trying to replace the boot animation and I'm having some issues with it -- maybe it's just something simple, IDK. I replaced the Boost_bootanimation.zip in system with another animation I grabbed online. I fixed the resolution in the txt file in the zip before replacing it. Now when I boot up the screen is just blank before starting up (other than the HTC logo when you first power on). Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe it's not supported? Is the stock animation the same type of img as your new one?

Doh! Good call. The files from the original are png whereas what I'm trying to replace it with are jpgs -- I'll convert and see if that doesn't do the trick. Thanks!

Also make sure that when you save the zip file that you DON'T use compression. Select the "store" option if you are using WinRar to archive it. Find a similar option if you are using an alternate archiver. Enabling compression on bootanimation zip files is known to cause the blank screen problem. ;)

Also the phone will have no problem using jpgs for the images. (some slower phones actually run the animation better with jpgs then with png files). I have used an animation on this phone that used jpgs and it worked fine.
