Root boot animations and boot sounds

im running the firefly v2.04 rom and it supports boot animations im wondering exactly how to change it ,also can i and sounds to boot up and how and what file type does it have be

Start up sounds are easy if your Rom already has them with root explorer you just change the file in system media, if your Rom does not have startup sounds it may be impossible to fix it, it depends on how the developer disabled them. Boot animations are a piece of cake just go to xda and download whatever one you want and you can use root explorer and change the bootanimation.zip with the one you want just make sure whatever one you use is named bootanimation.zip.

to change boot animation in root explore system>media>(replace bootanimation.zip with yours)

startup sounds replace system>etc>PowerOn.wav

or you can download Absolute System from the market. Scroll down to boot animations. Download the one you want and it will appear when you reboot. It lets you preview them as well.

got it done, thanks again but what about shutdown animations is that easy too or something totally different

wow,cool app.but i dont need,,,, lotts of things you can do with that app! wow,i think i just like the basic cog. this a cool forum.i hope i can learn a way we can cheat att out of how much data we use each month! now thats an app. that i realllly want

Not going to happen. As the people running the gateway, they're always going to know exactly how much data you've used, for real.

If you want to "cheat" them out of data, use wifi more.
