Root Boot Splash Screen Help

Lurker
So I just rooted my HTC Evo 4g with Gingerbread 2.3.3 and tried the ways posted and none seem to work. I have tried the pcimg36.zip to the sd card and everything. I did my boot animation with no problems besides the fact the file names were diffrent than listed. Any one know of a youtube video or plain english term to flash a boot screen?

Make sure it is named exactly PC36IMG.zip. Windows hides extensions by default so if you can see it, remove it. Make sure its on the root of the sdcard and reboot to hboot. I should scan and ask you if you want to update. Tell it yes.

yep. Just the PCIMG36.zip all caps as stated. I used Revolution to root 2.3.3 so don't know if that makes a difference and have nothing else on the sd card and on the root.

PCIMG36.zip or PC36IMG.zip? It needs to be PC36IMG.zip

Is it the stock sdcard or a different one?

it also depends on how the bootanimation is put together. some of them you have to find where the bootanimation.zip file is on the system partition of the rom.

Yep it's just PC36IMG.zip Also the bootanimation was under spc-bootanimation. I guess I just need an easy to follow guid asuming I have no software pre loaded. Alot of the forms say to type in a command and it flashes but syas like adb and stuff. I also used revolution not unrevoked to root. Don't know if that makes a diffrence since it's Gingerbread 2.3.3

Try taking the .zip off the end of the file name. You might have an extra one on there.

Are you using the original 8gb card or a different one? You didn't accidentally unzip the file by chance?
