Root Bootloader Tool [BOUNTY]

We can't seem to get anywhere with this bootloader, so I guess it's time to say we want to get it unlocked and we're willing to pay whatever dev that wants to port loki to our phone. Whether it be drjrbliss himself, or another dev that can get it working (which I kinda doubt another dev could since loki is so new and drjrbliss wrote loki).

What is loki? It was originally made for the Samsung Galaxy S4. What it does is skip the security checks from the bootloader somehow (Shabby feel free to edit this). It does NOT unlock the bootloader, but it will allow us to have a custom recovery and custom kernel.

so if he ports it to a specific lg device such lg og pro. would it work for us or need to be ported further? if thats the case then we should pitch in on the lg og pro bounty.

No, that's not the case. It is device specific.

As the source stands now, it is written for Samsung devices.

Once ported to LG, it can be used to make a .loki file for us, but you would still need to find device specific information using IDA Pro. drjrbliss is a master of IDA Pro. And yes, he has the newest version of IDA.

its actually far worse than that, it needs to be edited to work on lg's overall then it needs to have EACH DEVICE added to it, and within each device EACH bootloader. chances are he will pick a bootloader version for each lg phone and say suck it up and use that one.

so if the lg og pro people get him to port it to lg then it still requires him porting it to the motion, he may on his own will, he may not. i just figured you guys may want the chance to offer something up in case he does it, perhaps he'll consider adding motion/spirit quickly there after ya know?

It's a tool to decompile stuff.

All those random numbers and letters you see in the aboot.img that makes no sense, IDA is able to get it to something readable. So if aboot.img is compiled into random nonsense we can't read, IDA is a decompiler. Unless I'm wrong. But that's what I've been told.
 
I'm actually doing pretty well with Ida after lots of reading. Wish I had the money for the latest one with hex rays :-D

Looks like djrbliss listed. He just tweeted 20 minutes ago that Loki is supported on the LG: Optimus G Pro, Lucid 2, Motion, and Spirit.

You are right. The thing is that it decompiles to assembly(lowest-level language, at that point you're dealing with specific registers and each 'action' you do can represent a single or maybe more action cycles) of which isn't always easily readable.

My understanding would be that if you decompile it using IDA pro you'll see exactly what the aboot.img is doing but it won't be the way it was originally coded since I assume it probably wasn't even coded in assembly to begin with.

I took like a whole year of assembly in College... those were fun times... specially since our professor told us to use windows 98 or XP... we ended up with so much corrupted data, and even more blue screens... :\
but it was interesting nonetheless.
