Bootsound for custom ROMS

Is there anyway you can put a boot sound on any custom rom? I have paranoid android by the way. Any help or positive response thanks.

Its all in the boot animation zip file. You can insert it using a PC while the file is still zipped. Also if you want a new boot you would back up the current boot and then delete it and replace with the new boot.

I know about the bootanimation, I'm trying to get the bootsound working.

Did you creat a sound file called PowerOn.ogg and place it in the /system/media/audio/ui ?

Once you do check permissions and make sure they are rw, r, r
The permissions are important or it won't play the sound.

that sound file will be played on boot.

I tested on my phone (Touched by SGS3 ROM) and both boot on and boot off worked...your custom ROM may vary.

You can pretty much rename any audio files to "PowerOn.ogg and PowerOff.ogg" in system/media/audio/ui. To test, I changed one of my small mp3 file and rename to PowerOn.ogg and it worked!

As Codegerm mentioned, you'll must change the permission to rw- r-- r--.
