Bought a Galaxy Tab last week. Now I'm lost. Advice?

Last week I picked up a galaxy tab from T-mobile. The plan was to use it as a replacement for my paper notebook at work, as I often take a lot of random notes throughout the day as well as put together a daily agenda. For that purpose, the G-tab has been great. I've also been using it a lot to browse the web from my bed and catch up on Dexter, and I plan on using it to take notes in class when I start grad school in the fall. I played with a Xoom but I didn't like the size and weight, and I didn't think the lack of 3.0 would bug me. But here I am a little over a week in and I'm starting to worry that the G-tab will be forgetten with the slew of honeycomb tablets coming out. I already have an Evo and I feel like I might be wasting my money on the Tab when my Evo can essentially do the same thing (albeit on a smaller screen). I have a 3 more days to return the Tab and cancel the contract and I have no idea what to do. Each day that goes by I feel I'll be more and more comfortable with the 10" size and weight. My biggest concern might be that although it's a tablet, the G-tab wont get any of the benefits the other tablets will get because its not likely to be getting honeycomb, and it will continue to be treated as a big phone. Any thoughts, anecdotes, or advice? Should I stick with the Tab because I like the 7" size? Go with the Xoom? Hold out for the 10.1 Tab or G-Slate? Maybe even the Flyer? My head is spinning.

I would return it and wait for ctia on march 22nd. There will be a few tablets announced including the samsung galaxy tab 8.9 which sounds like the perfect size for you.

What exactly are the issues you think you will have in the future with this? You said continue to be treated as a big phone, not sure what you mean?

You will hate carrying around the 10s. the 7 is just the right size for portability and function, or at least for me it is.

I agree with this. Return your Tab and wait & see what new tablets are introduced at CITA. It's only a few weeks away. If there is nothing that catches your eye, then go back and get the Tab.

Play the wait and see game, remember that with all the big announcements and releases the price for the tab and xoom for that matter will only continue to drop.

They're just ripped episodes from a DVD...and I did keep the tab.

Great decision! I was in the same boat. The tab will get the gingerbread update sometime in quarter 2, honeycomb not so sure. But you can bet there will be an unofficial release. I plan on using my tab to the fullest and having fun with it, then in a year or two.....see what new tablets are out in the market.
