Ok first let me state that pretty much since I got the phone I unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. It's been working fine since launch until recently. I have an Anker extended battery. I was running 4.2.2 (JDQ39) using the Skipsoft Galaxy Nexus Toolkit. I had no custom ROMs was running just stock android.
For the last few months I have had signal issues, with the grey bar instead of blue in areas where I used to not have any problems. I've been shutting down and removing the battery which seemed to take care of the issue. For about the last week noticed any app I'd get a very faint black flicker on the screen. Out of the blue this past Saturday, I went to check my phone and it was completely blank. I know it's not the battery as I had at least 30% left, not to mention I had 2 wireless chargers with me, but the phone won't charge. I've tried to replace the after market battery with the OEM battery, still won't charge, boot up, nothing. It's a paperweight at this point and I am 4 months out from a 2 year upgrade. I don't think the lcd went out, normally when you power the phone on, it slightly vibrates. So even it was a bad screen, wouldn't I still feel that? Wouldn't my pc recognize it when connected via USB? No it's not damaged nor been dropped in water. I've had a screen protector and case since day 1. Physically it's in excellent condition.
Anyone had this issue? Randomly brick for no apparent reason? What are the odds both the OEM and after market battery are toast?
