Root Bricked my Nook Color?

OK so I finally got past rooting my Nook, only problem was that in the steps that stated I had to access the "menu" soft key in YouTube to sign in w/ my gmail, it wouldn't register my touch. It registered every other soft key there. After about 5 mins of going out and coming back into the YouTube app, I figured I'd just do a quick power cycle...

The Nook never fully came back on...

I'd see the Nook symbol, the screen would stay lit with the black background and it wouldn't proceed to getting me to the homepage. I tried numerous times trying to on the Nook with and without the SD, letting my USB cable power it on... it will not get off the black screen. Tried the hard reset method (power, volume & home key) same results. I am completely lost and don't think anyone has messed up their Nook as bad as I did (embarrassing).

Not sure why this happened, but here is where your need of an SD card reader comes in very very handy.

Your gonna need to get a CWM bootable SD card going, The Nook always tries to boot from SD first so once that is setup you can re flash everything and start over with whatever ROM you like.

I read on that method, am I basically using WinImage again to write the image?

This is correct. Get a bootable CWM image on there, find a ROM to install (or stock ROM) and pop it in the Nook, then turn it on, it will boot into CWM.

From there you can flash a new ROM to the internal memory of the nook.

Also, I noticed you are posting for help in various threads, its hard to keep track if your posting in different topics, so please try to keep them all in this thread so we can keep track of your progress and help you better.

Hope all works out, keep us posted.

Are you leaving the autonooter SD card in when you reboot? BC it would behave like this if you did.

Take it out and reboot.
