Just reflash your backup from recovery console. I jad thay same problem with the beats audio drivers on my i9100. Only thing to do is reflash and dont use whatever caused the issue.

actually, how do you do that? i'm a noob to all this stuff. my backed up stock rom is on my SD card but not sure where to find it in the system recovery

btw, i used i used Orange Backup. so, went into system recovery again but i don't see the "install zip from SD card". would it be the "apply update from external storage"? from there, saw my backup and applied but nothing happened. stuck on "-- Install /sdcard ..."

U suggest first downloadong and installing the dorimanx or siyah kernel and installing that from your sd. It gives you a few mor options and some advanced stuff too.

i'm not sure why either

Here's a guide i wrote a bit ago. You can substitute the file for your own backup file.

How To Un-root Your Epic 4G Touch - Android Forums

It's for unrooting but it also works as an unbrick guide.

thanks! your tutorial is easy to understand. i'm on GB27 and in your tutorial, you stated not to use the wrong kernel and only FI27 and FL24 are listed so i don't wanna do anything yet..

and for PDA file, should i just rename my zip file to .tar or the other supported formats? and is it ok that my backup is in all in parts.

sorry i have so many questions but i thank you guys for helping me out :)

it's ok, i didn't have much on there anyway. ah, so did it but when it restarted, it's still stuck on the 4G screen. it's been past 15 minutes now :(

Ouch just came across this thread, i recommend making a backup via the cwm custom recovery :)

Not bricked, just in a bootloop, you could always flash a custom rom (if you've got a custom recovery)

Have you tried wiping all the cache / dalvik and data?

is there cwm custom recovery for the PC? i think i had it installed right before my phone got stuck. i wiped cache and data but can't find dalvik

Can you get into recovery right now?

I can dig up a cwm based recovery to use with odin, but you can get into recovery now, that would a waste to do.

If you can get into recovery, have you flashed a rom before?

it's just pressing volume up key and power button, right? and i've never flashed a rom before. furthest i've gone is just rooting. would also love to have a custom rom soon too lol

Volume up and power while the device is off until the sammy screen comes up yes

Well flashing a rom is definitely the easiest way to get out of the bootloop without returning you completely back to stock unrooted.

If your up for it, ill guide you through :)

Ouch stock recovery. It's going to get a little complicated now.

I'll need to dig up a custom recovery for you.

You have odin on your pc right?
