Root bricked my phone

done. load it up in odin on PDA, right?

Yep! If you start Odin and plug your phone in, you should see a box that changes color (yellow or blue I forgot). (If it doesn't change color then we need to install the Samsung USB drivers on your PC)

The yellow triangle just is an indicator that a custom recovery has been flashed. We can get rid of that later but don't worry it doesn't mean anything is wrong with your phone :) Is it stuck on that screen? If so, can you battery pull and boot into the custom recovery?

Awesome! That's great! You should be able to install your backup.. assuming the backup is compatible. I've never messed with Orange Backup but what I'm reading about it now states that it is compatible. Let's hope they're right :D

In CWM navigate to the Advanced Menu and then to Backup and Restore. Do you see that? :)

It won't let you restore the backup? Hmm.. well I suppose you can do a factory reset from within the Advance menu but like DragonSlayer said you will lose your data. I was hoping we could install that zip backup you have from CWM.

EDIT: Strike that.. let's see what DragonSlayer has for us ;)

yes, i can still access it.

do i download the 6.0 first like it said? just reading that post confused me :( when my phone is fixed, maybe i shouldn't install anything since just reading on how to do all that stuff confuses me :(

I second that.. flashing roms is easy.. you're about to find out after you download this file ;) that last thread was confusing and I was just thinking that. I'm not familiar with direct boot either. Scratch what you saw there from your mind cause its WAY easier!

I may not be here still when you get the rom downloaded. If I'm not.....

Transfer the rom zip file onto your sd card

In recovery, wipe your cache, dalvik cache, factory reset/system.

Don't worry about making a backup, it would be pointless to make a backup right now lol

Go back into your main menu, select install zip from sd card, navigate to where you have the rom zip and select that file.

It should ask if your sure, hit power to confirm. This will take a couple minutes.

After it's finished, choose to reboot system.

downloading right now. so the process is still the same, right? Odin>PDA>Start? thanks so much guys for helping me out! really appreciate it. i'll do that and i'll let you know what's up[

No, you should still have cwm on your phone, it'll stay there until you make the flash.

Just transfer the rom to the sd card.

I'm about to have to jump off here, Britton will guide you through the rest should you have anymore questions :)

thanks so much for your help! so if i wanted another rom, just transfer it to sd card then do the same?

Yep! Of course then you can do a backup with CWM beforehand. That way you can restore it with CWM if you don't like the new rom or if things go wrong. Of course we aren't doing a backup in this case cause your current rom isn't.. booting :D

You mean the buttons aren't responding at all or it's just not letting you select anything off the sdcard?
