Root [Bricked] Stuck in Emergency Mode!

Windows, Mac, or Linux?

I'm going to assume Windows for now.
I don't know what you know or how you did it. So here's everything.

You have to have Java jdk6 or above installed. You need to put the path to the java.exe in the environmental variables.
Mine looked like this:
;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_45\bin
Make sure you put the ; in front.

EXTRA: While your in there you might as well put the CLASSPATH in as well.
Delete the old CLASSPATH and put in your new one. If you dont have one make one.
Mine looks like this:
"C:\Program Files\java\jre6\bin"
Make sure you put the " on both ends.

You need to put the path to the adb.exe in the path.
Mine looked like this:
;C:\SDK\platform-tools

Make sure you have the latest Droid@Screen.jar.
Put the Droid@Screen.jar on the desktop. Plug your phone into the computer with it in the recovery. Open up the Droid@Screen.jar. You should get a window that asks for the path to the adb.exe.
There is a folder icon to the right. Click on it. Navigate to the adb.exe by clicking on the folders and selecting to open them until you have gotten to the adb.exe. Do this even with the adb.exe.

You should now see your recovery menu.

Let me know how it went.

So i can't seem to get the dang thing working, but is there any other suggestions as to another method of getting this fixed? Thanks for you time

Let me send you a VM670ZV4.KDZ file. Try it with the KDZ. This time with the KDZ use the LG updater app from the KP500 (you should still have it on your desktop, right?). Start it, then close it before using the KDZ.
Will need to upload to my Mediafire account.
Boy! When I get done I'm going to have a ton of stuff on my Mediafire account. LOL

Thanks Andy !! and yes i still have the updater app and KDZ

Sorry about that. I have had a whole lot going on over here.
Will try to upload the ZV4.kdz tomorrow.

I forgot how difficult it was to unbrick. At first I kept trying the kdz thingy, ect. The joys of the Optimus V and S. :D

Is there any .exe program like Odin but for an LG device so I can flash a new recovery on my lg, as i can't seem to find a way to flash a new one?

What recovery do you now have? If it's a ClockworkMod recovery then try QtADB.
There is also the Flash image GUI.
You can also just flash a recovery using a terminal emulator.
All the above can be found in the All Things Root Guide sticky.

is there any others as i don't have clokworkmod, and my phone's stuck on the boot logo and my recovery wont show up as i have flashed the wrong one for my screen

Edit:
Also droid@screen and ADB don't work as i don't think i have adb/developer options enabled but i can't know for sure as i can't boot my phone.

Edit:
Also is there a way I can remove my recovery so its fastboot and not a recovery, and then use that to flash a new recovery to my lg optimus v?

Do you have the Android SDK setup (path to the adb.exe in your environmental variables and the Java jdk6_u45 installed)?
The fastboot.exe is in the SDK/tools folder. When the time comes you will need to open up a command prompt in the folder (don't cd into it).
What recovery do you have installed?
Can You get into Emergency mode?

This is the situation: adb needs to work to get into the fastboot mode on the phone (adb shell/reboot bootloader). adb is needed to flash a different recovery. If you can't get adb to work you will need to get into Emergency mode and use either the KDZ or KP500 unbrick utilities. Weather your phone is a ZV4 or ZV5, I have the proper LG firmware for those utilities.

Let me know and I'll post the link to the firmware for whatever ZV version you have for both utilities, as well as the guides for them.

Yes, I can get into emergency mode, but honestly I don't know for sure what I have, the ZV4 or the ZV5, i bought it in 2012 and am not 100% sure which it is. The recovery is one that i accidently flashed that was for the P500 optimus one i believe. will have to find which one it is for sure.

Hey Andy,

Not sure what to do as I have tried both the ZV4 and the ZV5 update methods and neither seem to be working, both the kp500 and the KDZ update methods. What are your suggestions, if any?

Could you post the output of the ZV5 KDZ utility? Put it in code wrappers. "code" in front and back of output with "code" inside ['s. The "code" in back has to look like this: [/code].
Also include what you did on the computer to setup for the KDZ.
Did you also try to get into the fastboot screen after running it the first time (you will need to erase the messed up recovery from the recovery partition before the second running of the KDZ).

Code:

Also, I don;t believe that I can get into Fastboot with the phone as when its in emergency mode fastboot doesn't register that it is connected, nor does ADB, not sure what to do,

Thanks again for all of you help!

Ok.
Download the LG Mobile support tool from the KP500 utilities unbrick guide and install. Then open it up. Let it fully load, then exit.
Try running the KDZ a few more times, making sure you have a good internet connection on your computer (might take 5 try's).
If it's working it should look like this:

If it still doesn't work your going to have to try the KP500 utility.
http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...ptimus-v-official-fw-kp500-4.html#post4568579
Updated: Make sure you copy/paste all these commands:
Code:
J
VM670
C:\KP500-Utils-EN\ZV5.cab
VM670ZV5_07
The last command wasn't right in sammyz's guide, but I have fixed to read properly here.

I have made a ZV4 version complete with updated instructions in case that doesn't work here:
VM670ZV4_KP500

Make sure you try the ZV5 version a few times first (it took me 5 try's to finally get the KP500 utility not error out), but go ahead and download my ZV4 version for the updated instructions.

Note: The ZV4 firmware is only for a V with the Novatek screen, if you have a ZV5 with a Novatek screen then you should be ok. If you have a ZV5 with the Hitachi screen you will get a blank screen when trying to bootup.

Hey Andie, thanks for all your help, found another lg optimus v for like 21 bucks online. So splurged and purchased it, its rooted and now i know what NOT TO DO, I MUST NOT DO A FACTORY RESET!!

Thanks Again

Cool. You can use the "wipe data/factory reset" in a custom recovery, but not in the stock recovery. If you are rooted, you must install a custom recovery and make the all important backup of the ROM. That way you can restore the backup if you or an app messes it up.
Rule of thumb: You can install a recovery from a good ROM, or a ROM from a good recovery. Never a good idea to install an untested/experimental recovery from a beta ROM, or a beta ROM from an untested/experimental recovery.
Look in the All Things Root Guide sticky in the All Things Root sub-forum for the guide on how to install a recovery and ROM. The Bean_Whiz is the best Jellybean ROM, the MiRaGe is the best Gingerbread ROM.

Andie,
I have xionia CWMA v1.2518.6 recovery and seems to be working fine. I have allready backed up my stock rom a few times, and have created a partition using your guide. Thanks again!!! Hope to deal with your expertise again!
