Root Bricked triumph, receiving one in 3-5days

okay I'm at the CWM recovery screen now v5.0.2.6. My problem is opening the SD card folder. How would i access that without using my home screen and enabling usb debugging?
 
Would flashing a custom ROM fix my issue of getting pat the Motorola logo, even though it won't even pass it in the stock ROM? I can go out and buy a card reader from walmart, but I just want to know if it'll work.
 
Yes. I have some on the front of my PC. For the micro SD card, you should have had an adapter for it that would allow it to fit in a normal SD card slot. There might be another way to access the micro SD card, do you have a different phone that has that slot you could hook up?
 
Ya i bet you could install a rom on there just fine.
I think some how you corrupted the original rom so you prolly need to go with a froyo based rom if you haven't activated it yet?

That or do we have a stock rom for download?
I mean I have my original nandroid backup?

Not sure, It might. It might not. I am just throwing ideas out that might make it work.

Those image files he downloaded have a completely stock ROM on them. There could be something that messed the stock ROM up for him. I am not sure flashing would help. Just something to try if it isn't booting.

@ctaing If you booted into the recovery and did a factory reset it probably formatted the stock ROM stuff (/system etc). So putting a ROM on might help, but there may be some other issue.

edit: with that I need to go to bed (5 hours till I have to be at work :( ) I can help you out more tomorrow if needed.
 
well this is the only phone I have on me and my computer doesn't have a slot for sd cards. I guess I'll stop by walmart to get one of these card/media reader things. What ROM should I flash? I had MIUI and CM7 before. This all started when I downloaded a new start up animation for my phone on MIUI and it kept playing without ever reaching the home screen. So I tried putting the stock rom back into the MOBILE drive and thats where I got stuck earlier, with the constant vibration and black screen. So would it be okay to flash a gingerbread based ROM or should I try froyo first.?
 
You could try CM7 or MIUI. Next time if you have that issue, go into the recovery and flash the ROM, do not do it in the MOBILE drive stuff!

I am not promising that your phone will work if you flash a new ROM, it is just something to try. You will probably have to use a 2.2 based ROM to activate it again though.

You can buy the reader if you want, but it might be a waste of money. Up to you. And with that I am really going to sleep. Good luck! PM me or keep posting here if you need more help.

The new phone will be fine if you can't get this one working. All the needed files are on the phone, the SD card is just storage for other stuff, not the OS.

I really mean it, I am leaving now, lol.

I apologize for doubting you, it might be possible that you have the first bricked triumph i have heard of! I would still see if you might be able to get it working, especially if it was fine otherwise.

So i'm gonna try to put a custom 2.2 based ROM, but in their directions they tell me to use an older version of CWM such has 4.0.1.4. Should I get that version of CWM or will having v5.0.2.6 of CWM be okay with it?

It should be fine, they probably just didn't update their rom info when the new version came out.
 
You should be fine with a newer one. I don't think any needed functionality was taken out, just more added. Have an older version available if you have issues though, I might be wrong.
Which ROM are you trying?
