Root Broke Radio during flash?

Hopefully everybody learns this lesson. Luckily never happened to me, then again I did the backup before I messed with it.

My backup script is not working

I updated it

please use this one

lgm_modemst_bakup_v2.zip

after you do a back up make sure you have these files


/sdcard/modemstbak/mmcblk0p10.img
/sdcard/modemstbak/mmcblk0p11.img

So my new phone is in transit. They were very funny. They said, "This is the second time this problem has happened to you. We think the sim card may be causing this failure in your phone. If the next phone does it we will swap out the card."

I know that the sim card wasn't the issue, but its funny how they are more willing to replace a 150$ phone rather than swap a sim card.

I'm already looking forward to flashing Bobz's cm10, but after i use candoopa's new modemst backup script. I've learnt my lesson. It took two phones, but eh.

So this is interesting.

I flashed cm10 bobz for the hell of it; knowing that my data or calls wont work. I did candoopa's modemst backup then simply flashed cm10. After playing with the settings in there i got finally got service back. I now have 3g and can place phone calls with cm10!!!

Maybe freak accident, maybe inner workings in bobz's rom, or in candoopa's backup... But i wont concern myself with it.


Now thats outta the way, i have noticed the telephony app and the volume rockers will cause extreme lag with the system, and have caused resets. Maybe this is an issue related to my other problems, but i will try to sammy unbrick and see if everything sticks.

Ill report my findings back here when im done.

I would have been able to keep it if i had filed a claim, but thats 40$ deductible versus the manufacturers warranty which is 10$ for shipping.

So i will have one motion, but fresh with no scratches. lol

sidenote: my current motion has been sorted out, fully functional. I think i have the modemst backup to thank for that. Invaluable in my opinion, just wish i had used it the first time...
