Building Computer, any additional advice?

I want a mobo that I know will work when I put it in and get everything setup, and when I read reviews I look at the most recent ones, and many of the ASUS and Gigabyte boards I have looked at, the most recent ones are either getting into boot loops or DOAs, I just want to make sure everything goes good with out any major problems that will set me back time wise

And this is the PSU I ended up getting:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Money well spent - Corsair have a justified reputation for build quality and reliablilty. They're not the only game in town but, like IBM, nobody ever got fired for buying Corsair. ;)

I think you're going to have to explain that little back story haha
I am looking forward to finishing up this build it is my first starting with nothing build and so far it is looking good!

The IBM comment? It's an old IT industry in-joke.... extra cash spent on IBM kit was always justified by its reliability. Imho the same applies to a good PSU - quality components cost more but will last longer and provide better regulation/safety.

haha I see.
And thank you for your opinion, I wasn't quite sure if I'd be happy with it, but after I got it out of the box and seated it in that case I started becoming happy with my decision. Looks like I need to look at heatsinks again, the one I have does not work with LGA 2011

I was thinking about that when I read that you had that unit, but I figured maybe you had done some HW and found an adapter for the attachment. You can't go wrong with the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 series, solid attachment, inexpensive, highly regarded. Maximum PC recently did a roundup of air coolers for LGA2011, might want to check that out (I think it was in last month's issue). For what it's worth, CM is offering free mounting kits to owners of the Hyper 212 that want to use it on the new socket.

Well I do already have the V6 GT but it does not have brackets for LGA 2011..
From that list you provided there was one I like..being I'm not one for the liquid cooling

I like the Corsair system because there's no maintenance, but if you aren't one for overclocking and all that jazz then it is useless to you.

I have been looking for 2011 heatsinks and I haven't seen many besides the ones that were on that list

that is what is holding my build up.. that and I am planning on getting some vip tickets to a concert to surprise my girlfriend haha

You could also contact the OEM of the heatsink you have now and find out if they have an LGA 2011 bracket for that particular heatsink. Another thing is to look for after-market brackets that fit your heatsink model (though those are few and far between).
