Buy a Nexus?

I currently have an HTC Thunderbolt. I really love the phone but I have become very disappointed in the delayed release dates since the phone came out. I am thinking of selling it and buying the new nexus. But I am wondering what the off contract selling price might be? Anyone have a clue/suggestion?

My guess based on passed similar pricing of flagship smartphones would be +$500 USA

I just read that the Razr will retail $649, so I'm guessing the Nexus will be at least that much if not more.

I could not imagine spending around $700 after tax on a phone. I'd wait 2-4 weeks after release and someone will sell one used for $450-$500 and you could probably get $200-$250 for your Thunderbolt giving you a price of $200-$300 for the nexus

Plus if you wait 2-4 weeks you can probably make sure it's up to par after other users review it

Because Carriers usually pay for the phones, not the customer, its like hospitals charging high rates to insurance companies for the hell of it....

I had never really stopped to think about it, but if the kindle fire only cost ~$250 to make, then why would the galaxy nexus cost over $600, crazy

But IMHO, I'm willing to pay that much for the Galaxy Nexus. (And I think Samsung knows this)

The razr price was all speculation. Guess we will find out later tomorrow when preorders start how much you can expect the nexus to be based off that also droid phones tend to be more than non droid phones. case in point HTC thunderbolt with better specs was less than charge.

Looks like the retail price for the Razr has been confirmed at $649.99; I'm guessing the Nexus will be about the same if not more.

Wow, if the GNex is gonna be $600+, I may just look into terminating the line of service, paying the prorated break fee, and then getting a new 2 year contract price $299. Probably be cheaper for me unless Verizon in-store rep can do anything for me. I have around 12 months remaining on a 24 month deal already for the Droid X. :\ Sigh

You have to figure in the fact that the nexus is plastic and that will be cheaper than all the kevlar and splash coating all those marketing things motorola added.
