When is Verizon going to remove Google Navigation, since it competes with VZ Navigator? Seems logical, since they charge for VZ and Navigation is free.

They did this to the Moto Q series of phones way back when. They had blocked GPS unless you were using VZNav. The development community never did find a way around it, as it appeared they were using a public/private key system that could easily be changed. They could realistically do it again, although I really doubt the iPhone or the Android community would be too happy about this.

Remember, they want to keep you as paying customers and not drive you off.

Ok.

The horse is either dead or it isn't.

Staff has tried to prevent and guide every thread on this subject from going circular.

We have a thread in the Suggestion Box for whether or not this site ought support discussions involving contract legalities - please visit it if you'd like to express your opinion.

This thread started out giving news about the disappearance of wireless tether apps for the DX, and has now moved full circle back to the same arguments we had earlier.

Anyone have a good reason for me to see I'm wrong about locking this thread as dead horse beating, PM me, please.

Otherwise: /thread.
