Bypass Activation Screen

Ok, so here is my situation. I recently upgraded from the Eris to the Thunderbolt. I reset to factory defaults because someone I know was going to take my phone, but he wound up finding one in better condition.

Since it now has no purpose other than being a paperweight stuck at the activation screen, I can't do much with it. I am a developer for android, and I play dungeons and dragons with some friends, and we made an app for keeping track of things on your phone(money, items, turns, etc.). One of the group members doesn't have a droid, so I want to bypass the activation screen and use it for wifi only/testing apps on the 2.1 droid.

I have tried: 4 corners. Doesn't work. Emergency calling ##778 and editing the nam settings, doesn't work(maybe because my phone is already being used by my thunderbolt?).

Is there any other special way out there that will let me bypass the activation screen? If you have one and let me know, there will be cookies, cake, and possibly hookers. Thanks!

Edit: Features to consider: the volume up button doesn't work(the actual button part is chipped off, no clue how that happened.), and the track ball is weak and will only scroll left when its in the mood.
