my elite gor hot like that yesterday on the back just below the headphone jack and just to the side of the G in the lg logo on back. no signal,then intermittent,then 1x data.

Yep same area as mine. Caught me off guard when I grabbed the darn thing and caused me to drop it. I think these things have a radio issue
Edit - Just went to use my phone and same issue so made a call to VM.. Got the normal reprogramming which of course didn't work so she escalated my problem to HQ. I should get a call back within 4 days....
