Cable question

[chrish]

I'm planning to get a 2nd cable for my Hero. I've found this item at Mobilefun.co.uk How can I be certain that this will be compatible with my Hero? I've read about there being different cable types for different phones & that the ones supplied by HTC are better (more cable threads used) than ones I might buy from other suppliers.

Advice? Thanks

The one you list should be 100% compatible, as the Hero is specifically mentioned as such.

FYI any microUSB cable that is USB 2.0-compatible, such as shipped with digital cameras, media players etc, will work fine for charging and data transfer. The "extended" connector found on HTC's cable is however advised when using HTC Sync; this includes installing RUU updates via the PC.
