Root Cachemate vs. TB Pro cache cleaner

There is an option in Titanium Backup Pro Scheduler to run a cache cleaner that I assume will clean all user and system app cache. If I have TB Pro, why would I need the app "cachemate" to do the same thing?

You don't, and you dont need to use the option in TB either.

Just reboot to recovery if you are having problems with your phone being sluggish and wipe dalvik cache and cache manually.

If anythings in use it wont be able to clean the caches, so doing it manually through recovery is much better

They will essentially do the same thing and since you have TB Pro use that cache cleaner and you can also set up a schedule for when you want to clean your cache.

As far as I know, wiping the cache partition in recovery is not the same thing as using a cache cleaner to clear cache data in manage applications. But I could be wrong





EDIT: And if you're using the Energy 3.5 rom, DO NOT WIPE the cache partition in recovery as there are system apps stored on the cache partition

Thank you for that info...I am going to set up a schedule in TB Pro to clean cache every Sunday morning.
Still running on stock rom and kernel but am going to flash MikG 3.0 soon...

Good luck with MikG, great rom And if you use TB and any other schedules, make sure they do not conflict, may have problems. BTW, you can set up as many schedules as you want with TB Pro

Well, just flashed Mikg 3.0...all went good and I am setting up accounts etc.
One question so far, when am looking for ringtones/notification and a list comes up...alot of notifications/ringtones are duplicates... is this because before I flashed, I had custom ringtones and notifications stored in the /system/media/audio folder. So I copied and pasted these to my sd card?.

Edit....went to my sd card and deleted those files with notifications and voila..no more doubles!
