Neither of these statements are true. I work outdoors, and if my X is ringing, there's no way it could be missed (my volume is all the way up for the ringer).
And my X has never, not once, rebooted unless I turned the phone off myself. Just wanted to clarify these two things are most likely isolated incidents, or problems with that person's particular unit.

I would just like to "clarify" that I cannot say for sure about the ring volume thing as it's something I read in the online reviews (the phonearena professional review, I think), but there is absolutely no doubt about the rebooting thing with my friends phone. Every time it reboots (which happens without user intervention), you hear it go "Drooooooid", which happens several times a day. I would imagine you have the volume turned off for the reboot sound.

It's not even the hugest deal in the world, it usually happens while you're not using the phone, but it's definitely happening to his phone.

I tried to exchange today but, they wouldn't wave my restocking fee.
I heard lots of echo on my phone when I'm taking on the phone.
One of my friends who bought the same phone same day, he said he didn't have any issue and asked me how I hold the phone when I'm talking. I ususally put my phone on my chin really close and talk. He sugguested that make a little gap between your mouth and phone mic. wow.. that was it..I didn't here any echo sounds. But, it's kind of annoying that I have to take off little space between my mouth and my phone.

Do you guys think noise cancelling feature can be add it by software?

I returned mine today because of the reverb/echo. This was after I exchanged the phone for a new one on Sunday. At the store, the idiot rep refused to waive the $35 fee even though I told him the reason was due to the reverb. He said he'd go talk to the manager but still no dice. As soon as I left the store I called 611 and spoke with customer service in a very nice tone. I explained the situation and the CS rep stated that the fee should only be applied if someone just doesn't want the phone, not if it is faulty. I asked him to make notes on my account and he said that I should call the store and speak with the manager. That's exactly what I did and the manager refunded the fee and was very apologetic, especially when I told him that the rep, Hoisea (what the f**k kind of name is that) said that he already spoke with the manager which he never did. Long story short, if you're not happy with the phone, call CS and have them put notes in your account so you don't have to pay the restocking fee.

So you do not have Fascinate anymore?
Should I have to exchange or return? So many people have same issue with this. I just sold my incredible :-( I don't know what to do... just hoping that update will fix this if this is not hardware issue.

Nope, no more fascinate. I exchanged it sunday for a new one and still had the problem, so I'm out and back with my old Incredible, which I didn't sell. I'm really hoping for the EVO like device to come to VZW soon, or I might get the fascinate again if they get the bugs worked out and upgraded to 2.2

I also have the X with no reboot issues. I can hear my phone ringing no problem, but I would definitely like it to be a little louder. Other than that, I would say the X is damn near perfect.

Supposedly Motorola stated some of these if not all would be addressed in the upcoming OTA.

I went to my store the other day and they told me that any audio issues were going to be fixed with 2.2 which hinted to me that they werent going to bother looking at it or exchange it so i didnt try. If im gonna exchange it ill call CS first just so i dont have any problem. In response to the X comments above the X is the best phone ive ever had in terms of call quality for me and the person in talking to. Never had a reboot either. I wouldve kept it if it was the size of the fascinate and didnt have the bump on the back.

No, my phone doesn't reboot on it's own. All my recently used apps (shown by holding the home button) are still running every time I check them. If my phone was rebooting on its own, the phone would display "no recent items" or something to that effect.

I'm not sure if you're trying to say that it's happening to me and I just don't notice it, but that's what your "clarify" sarcasm post sounded like.

Mine has done it from the day I got it but I love this phone way more then my D1 so I will just deal with it until a fix comes out.

I exchanged mine today and the one i got doesnt have it nearly as bad. One thing i couldnt believe is when the rep took my SD card out of my old one to put in the new one he just pulled it out. I said hey u know thats spring loaded right so it just pops out if u push it in first. His reply was "Oh I didnt know that. Well it comes out the same like this so its fine." Way to know your product idiot.

im starting to get confused because i really want the fascinate but i dont want bad call quality :(

Yeah I hate to call it a crap shoot because I do believe most fascinates are probably ok. Not to be a fanboy but the problems are over represented here because you have people with problems coming here looking for help. People without problems will not be here as much not as vocally

I tried out the SF in the Verizon store today. Call quality seemed fine and clear on my end, but the person I called said ALL the background noise was audible, and that there was a LOT of crackling/distortion from my voice and the other noise.

Is this what everyone is talking about? I was assuming you were all saying that the speaker to listen on was the one causing the noise.

Hi, I just picked up my Fascinate yesterday & I noticed the reverb right away, so I went back to the store & switched it out not even an hour after I got the phone. My new phone has the same issue. Is anyone else still suffering from this? Its so crazy to constantly hear yourself talk when you're on the phone...

I absolutely love this phone & don't want to have to compromise by switching to another one. I guess I'm just looking to find out if I take a chance and switch it one more time if that has a chance of fixing the problem.

Thanks for your input!
