Help Call drops for few secs

I have been experiencing a strange behavior on my skyrocket during a call, people are complaining that they are not able to hear anything for few secs (2-3) and again after the interval of 2-3 secs, if i am still on the call it automatically connects with no issues and one more thing, during this period of call drop i am able to hear other people talking.

This is happening to me on almost all the calls :mad:, is there any fix for this Kind of issue.

FYI..... we have a at&t tower near by so it shouldn't be a signal issue.

Did any one else is also facing the same issue?
 
Yup, it's happening to me too. The callers keep saying my voice gets real low like I'm far away or something. It so frustrating. I think the voice cancellation mic is cutting off my own voice. I find that the phone has to be right up against my mouth the entire time. If not I hear them going HELLO HELLO because they can't hear me. It's sucks!! I love the phone but this is killing me.
 
I just picked up my Skyrocket 2 days ago and I'm having the same problem. People say that I sound far away. I have to put the phone close to my mouth and then they can hear me.

I'll give a few more days but if I continue having this issue I'm returning it. Having all the email, web browsing and good screen is good and all but I need a phone that actually handles voice communication well.
 
Where are you guys having the issue?

I.e. my buddy had to get a microcell for his house because something (radiant barrier?) Was blocking the signal

i am facing this issue in my house, office and also sometimes when i am driving as i use bluethooth/headphones.
 
I noticed something odd last night when I was on the phone. In my case if I hold the phone at a slight angel to my right (like when I turn my head to look at something to my right) It starts to sound like I'm far away.

I was able to reproduce this every time.

I thought maybe it had something to do with the motion feature but it still happens if after disabling all motion features.

Maybe I just have a defective phone? I'll unroot it tonight and exchange it at AT&T tomorrow.

I hope its just a case of defective unit because I really like the Skyrocket. I upgraded from the Captivate.

Surely it is just a bad unit. We have had no issues but we are also in a strong att market
 
I must have had a bad unit. Last night the back phone got really hot and started force closing everything even when trying to make a call.

I got my new one today and its seems better, the screen seems brighter, the pictures don't seem as dark and so far the call quality has improved but I've had a couple of people still tell I sound far away from the phone.

The AT&T sales rep told me they haven't had any returns or reports with the Skyrocket in this market (Anchorage, Alaska) due to call quality problems.

I live near a cell tower and I didn't have any call quality issues with my Captivate. I'm hoping this unit works better than my last because I really do like the phone.

one quick did you happen to purchase your phone directly from at&t store and exchanged it from them or you sent the phone and received it through mail, because i heard people are getting refurbished phone not the new phones so be careful....

I bought it from the AT&T store and exchanged it there. So far its working well :)
