Root Calling on animators

I am in the process of making the bootanimation for the MTDEV ROM. I am playing with ideas right now. What I am thinking is some kind of "discovery" theamed animation, right now I think that I'm going with someone opening up a box and inside will be some kind of cool flames with "MTDEV" inside.
I can piece together clips form movies or what ever, but I would like to try to do it with original work. I don't have animation skills. No for real, none. So I'm hoping that someone in the community can help here, and maybe give me a lesson or two.

Anyway, love what we have here at AF. This is the best community of people I have seen anywhere!

Also, if you have ideas, post them. I know I'm not the most creative guy on the planet.

Bump

I know it's a little rude, but I doubt there are no people who would even chime in on this.

I'm looking for the Goonies right now. I know I have it. I think the shot with the kids finding One-Eyed Willy and his treasure would be a good start.

Anyway, holla

What file type is a boot animation. Is it flash based? I have the ability to make flash animations but don't because I hate it in regards to web design. Plus flash is discontinuing updating mobile devices.

No flash, thankfully.
Just a directory or two full of sequentially numbered .png or .jpg files.
Includes a text file to define it (frame rate, resolution, etc) and it's all zipped up (stored) with no compression.

Actually I can use most video files. .avi is prefered, but I can convert them to .jpg. I am not sure about flash files. I found a program that would help me build an animation, but sence I can't draw for crap, I was having a hard time using it. That and I was beating myself up over the lack of quality.

So in short, almost any video file that will play in a media player.
