Camera 360 - Better Picture Quality?

Oooh! Think I got a nice comparison of the two programs:

One thing I'm going to be studying as I research the program is whether these same exact effects can be applied afterwards in Gimp/Photoshop. My feeling is that yes.. they can. In which case; do you really need to take the pictures that way off the cuff?

Because in that case it just ends up being a novelty. If it's not actually capturing the image differently then it's just a party trick (or for people who are happy with auto-effects without being able to have a raw original to play with to figure out which one looks best).

Apparently even the tilt-shift effect can be applied to images after the fact. So that will definitely be part of my research.

I'd guess that the camera hardware is going to capture the same image no matter what program is used. After that the program would manipulate the photo as you mentioned. Further evidence of this is that one option is for the program to save an unedited photo along with the one with the special effects applied.

BRILLIANT! I hadn't gotten to that part of the software settings, but I just found it. Awesome! This program really is fantastic. Can someone please help me figure out to get screenshots so I can dive in and get this manual started?!

I haven't figure that out. :(

I have the odd feeling that you can only do it rooted, which means that I need someone with this program who is rooted to help me out. Or; I'll just have to do the stupid option and use my mother's camera to take pictures of my screen which is just ridiculous, but if no one wants to help me then that's what I'm stuck with. I'm not willing to root a phone during my 30 day trial.

And while the concept of "rooting" interests me, I'm not ready the give up the warranty on mine. I'm currently considering upgrading to the "Incredible." As I understand it, they are all back ordered, and won't be delivering until the end of the month. It'll cost me an extra $99.99, so I'm weighing the differences.

my 360 version seems a lot more natural. I was on a random ride on my motorcycle and saw this field, turned around, and took equal numbers with both cameras. As you can see with both being nearly identical; I know what I want with my pics lol. I managed to set up the same shot twice in two programs. That really impressed me on a personal level. But that's the stock shot and the 360- on "normal". The 360 has a natural color representation. The stock has an overall "bluish" hue. I'm sure you could get the 360 pic on the stock cam but it'd take some tweaking.

The white balance. You would need to tweak the white balance if your shots keep coming out with a blueish hue. Maybe the contrast as well.

Has anyone downloaded the latest free version lately? I noticed the dev gave back the ability to change resolution... did they add any other features back or should I just stick with my old version with all the original features?

How new is that update I downladed it last weekend and yes you could choose resolution size, but when you upload the picture or send it in an email it only does it in the small resolution...I'll download it again today and try it out again....

Well it is, maybe one of these days I'll buy the full version. can someone who has it tell me if all the ads go away if you buy the full version? Thanks!

The resolution restrictions are gone! This is the latest update, v0.9.4. The color selection mode is awesome. This is once again my favorite cam app.

man, i really wish it saved every single picture i take. that's why i regret spending money on it..i know this topic is riddled iwth me saying this lol but i dont understand how people can love it so much when it doesn't even save your pictures!!!! ahhhhh

i think it just takes time to save them... give it a few minutes before it shows up...

edit: and it doesn't save them automatically unless you selected the option to... you have to click the little Checkbox after taking the picture to save it...

Anyone know how to go about redownloading on a new phone? I am going to (probably) switch to the Captivate and paid for the program (as well as others) and am not sure how I go about putting them on the new phone!
