Camera better after 2.2?

I used to have a droid x when they first launched and since I am an admitted phone slut, I got rid of it for a Samsung Fascinate. I am now seeing why I should have avoided Samsung, total lack of support for their products and doubtfulness that it will ever get 2.2. So i had problems with the droid x camera before, slight lag. Is the camera snappier with 2.2?

Thanks

I do indeed think the stock camera is better after 2.2. It definitely helped getting the capture button on the screen instead of always having to use the dedicated camera button.

But me personally even before 2.2 my phone took awesome pictures in daylight. Most people struggly with low light pics which IMO can be way better with some tweaking of the settings.

In low light I would turn the ISO down to 100 or 200, and also play around with the exposure. It is a great camera but for some reason the auto settings just don't do well in anything but good light, so for everything else I would advise playing around with the settings for a while.

Also many many people will tell you that vignette or camera360 are superior applications to the stock camera as well.

I don't like the fact that the DX doesn't have image stabilization. Means the slightest movement will produce a blurry picture. Low light pics are very grainy. I had the D2 for 2 weeks and the one thing it does better than the X is pictures.

I didn't notice one difference in the quailty of the pics, nor the operation of the camera(other than shutter button on screen...don't even use it).

There is a "Steady Shot" setting.......don't know if it really does much though.

Yup. Low light pics suck.

I am in the same boat as you, ditched the Fascinate for a Droid X for the same reason.

The Samsung did have a GOOD camera for being a phone, it's pics were actually good, sharp, colorful quality. The Droid X, albeit 8MP, is terrible no matter what.

Noisy, blurry, it's a a camera function built into a phone just to say that they put it on there.

i got vignette and that solved some of my problems with the camera.

it is never going to be as good as my Canon is in low light. but i have taken some neat pictures using the vignette options.

Vignette demo is very low resolution(2mp?), so it's hard to see what "improvements" it would make. I'm not going to purchase the full Vignette based on that demo.

Gonna see what 360 has to offer since quickaudi mentioned it.

That didn't take long. Works great! Has a timer on it(if you can actually set the phone down on something until it takes a pic without it falling down ;) ). I kinda like the beep. But hope you can turn it off. I like the one-touch delete also. Seems to work very well. Put an icon on the dock for it.
