Help camera not working

My camera just stopped working on my HTC EVO. I haven't damaged it at all. I have just deleted all the apps I have downloaded just in case that was the problem. I have also turned the phone off, took out the battery and the memory card and restarted it and it's still not working. I touch the icon and then it just goes to a black screen. Same goes for the camcorder. What should I do??? I use my camera all the time!! I have a 15 month old and I'm missing some precious moments. Please help!

try clearing data and cache for the app by going to applications in settings.

Will clearing the data in the camera app delete the photos?

Your photos are saved on your sd card. Anyway, your camera is broke talk to Sprint and they will put you in touch with the insurance company. Or take the phone to a Sprint Repair store, but I doubt they can fix a broken camera.
