Camera picture thread

How do you shoot these panoramic shots? Are you using an app or are you just stitching them together yourself?

when in camera mode, touch the little arrow on the left side of the screen to show your options. then touch the top left icon (shooting mode). you should see a panorama option on there....when you take the picture, slowly pan the camera to the right. there will be a green guide to tell you where the camera should be for the next shot. you can take up to 8 panorama shots in one. have fun!

AMAZING! Thanks so much!

Can you do a comparison or something? Ive heard people say that the iPhone 4's is better, but i havnt seen two pictures side by side yet.

I can say the iPhone 4 is better. In fact, it is the best cam on the market.
But, I like the Captivate's granular control on the cam.

Maybe I'll put up some comparison shots. However, when you pixel-peep the files (view the files objectively) and measure the noise levels, check the histograms, the iPhone 4 files come out on top.

Also, the iPhone has a 1.75 um pixel density sensor and a f/2.4 lens which gives it a serious advantage. But... Galaxy S can go as low as ISO 50.

Either way, the Galaxy is in the top 3-5. IT is much better than ALL the HTC offerings. See my comparison photos above.

I posted these pictures on the Incredible Forum; comparing the Droid Incredible to the Captivate

OKAY. here are picture comparison from the two phones...

Nice to see the Captivate in a positive light for once. Seems like every thing I read about it, is negative in some way (Not as good as iPhone, not as "sleek" as Vibrant). Thanks for the pictures, they look really nice.

I'm sure the iPhone camera is as good or better than the Captivate, but I find the Captivate camera and its features, easy to use, and really nice. I guess I can compete with my Sony SLR camera, but well it should win. I'm happy with the Captivate's Camera. Great Panorama shots guys, can't wait to try it.

OK, I think I've gone stupid.... How are you guys able to get pictures off of your phone? When I connect it to my PC I get nothing.

See the USB drivers thread. You need to set your USB connection method to mass storage when the phone prompts you after plugging it in. Then you need to mount the drives from the notification bar.

No offense or anything, but I have seen MANY cameras but the BEST camera actually goes to the Droid Incredible. It beat out the EVO 4g, the Droid X (suprisingly it just seemed clearer) and it destroyed the iPhone and Captivate

Funny. I happen to have a DROID incredible and wrote extensively on HOW bad it was. Burnt highlights, bad histograms. No resolution difference in 8 megapixels vs 5. Heavily compressed jpegs. Defective camera software. Bad metering..

Compared to a $60 backflip, it was horrible. I have sample files and histograms:

Check out page 2.

Also the picts I posted on the top of this page clearly shows the Captivate handles highlight much better than the Incredible. Those are Incredible vs Captivate picts.
