Camera Quality Shots

Thanks for posting these. I've been really concerned about the camera quality, since I've seen some high-quality-looking pictures, but I've also seen low-quality. However, I would think that this give-away phone would have the most recent upgrade in firmware and we can expect this kind of quality. I'm getting excited!
 
the 8 mp camera definitely is no as good as my Kodak stand alone camera, but it is good as hell for a freaking phone! The trees didn't seem that sharp looking, but macro mode seems to hve good potential if you had to take a pic of up close text or something.
 
Those look awesome!!! Way better than the Eris...shoot, my camera just erases random pixels throughout the picture after I take it.
 
Why are people trying to compare this 8mp camera to a Point and shoot? The Camera on cell phones are just for quick shots, facebook..ect its not meant to be a camera replacement.

With the caveat that there isn't anything to compare to, the color looks realistic to me. Maybe it's a matter of how "unreal" we want photo colors to be? I think they look good.
 
I've read so many X reviews its hard to remember which is which, but one of them compared a touched up, IE enhanced on a computer picture to that of the iPhone 4. Essentially the reason the iPhone 4 camera looks better is because it has an onboard auto-optimization that runs in the background so the user doesn't have to worry about it. But once you get the X pictures onto a computer and use either Picasa or iPhoto to enhance it, the pictures should look really nice!

i did the same thing with my Evo when i got it and i will do the same with my X
 
These are really great quality pics for Facebook! That's the only use for a camera phone that I see. :p

Agreed

I hate taking pictures on my digital camera(of myself anyway)
just because i hate carrying that big ass camera with me lol

Whip out my camera phone out my jeans and i'm good...and plus
i can upload right then and there(and edit it if need be)
 
Geolocation tagging doesn't seem to be working for the photos. The map says they're all in the same spot, and some photos don't even have it at all. I wonder if he had it on or not.

Ya thats not true...opinions very i guess....i mean its still good for a phone thats for sure...just was spoiled by the inc camera i guess..
