How do you guys have your camera settings set up. A lot of my pictures that I take are real dark. I tried increasing the brightness but than its to bright

Turn on flash. Press the gear at the top left > flash > auto :) Just tell who ever you're taking a picture of to be ready for a bright light :p

when i have the flash on it does not give off enough light for the whole picture just what ever is in the middle of the picture is lit up.

Also it's a phone camera not a Nikon DSLR.

From your description it sounds like you are a good ways back from the subject, not good with a phone camera. Get close enough to Fill The Frame with what you are taking the pic of. Probably the 1 worst, most common mistake in every picture is it was taken too far back from the subject. You might check your camera settings and see if somehow your ISO selector got taken OFF of Auto. (IOS is like "old" asa numbers. If the camera is set with a low ISO/asa and the light is already low, the pic would be darker because of the mandated low ISO.)

[EDIT] Also I don't think the phone camera flashes are All That. They are adequate, probably for Most cases. But, try to light a large group of people from too far back from them and that little flash isn't gonna do the trick.

I even went to das manual for you and I sure couldn't find a spec At All, anywhere, for it much less for flash distances. Oh well. Just fill the frame with subject, flash on auto and it should be better.

Well when I took a picture of my son when he was sleeping maybe two-three feet away from him the outside of the pic is pretty dark and center is white. The setting is on auto, also i know its not an nikon I was comparing it to my wifes Iphone(not sure of camera specs on the iphone)

I use also "Incandescent" mode indoors. I just wish it would default to the mode I last left it.
Also if you transfer the pics to a PC you'll notice they look better than they do when viewing them on the low-res LG Motion screen.

Se the "Test.jpg" I uploaded.

Same with vids. QT Player works best for viewing MP4 video.

I haven't taken hardly any pics with my Motion, it's pretty new.

But I DO have to say that Does look like pretty rapid "drop off" on the flash
in a pretty short distance.

Interesting.
