LOL
My fear is that most of the threads will go like this one and those of us that would/could normally be helpful won't have the update yet and won't be of any help at all.

What might I know?

The video the guy posted in that link, it was of the 2.1 on the Eris, that was really blurry. I can't seem to find the thread right now, but I wanted to say you were the main one talking to the person in the convo, I believe they were having trouble. Anyways, never mind
BTW: This is mckinzie.rose, I just changed my name because I don't want my name online, nothing super paranoid, just...ok sorry I'm babbling.
Lol You can get the mods/admin to change your original account name. That way they don't ever yell at you for having two accounts.
Yeah, the S guy changed his screen name too. I think he was trying to avoid problems with "The Company". He wasn't having any problems, just showing us what was to come.
Didn't I once -- somewhere -- see a post that talked about getting one's phone to manually request an OTA update from VZW? It involved sending a string that included lots of *'s and #'s ...

HTC just told me over the phone that they have no information that would verify that the update has been released. They also told me that when updates are released, they are usually one of the first to be updated so they do not think this is reliable. Although this could just be them following protocol until Verizon officially announces it.

Tried it already....... nothing![]()

How did you type that in? It is too long for my phone.
type it in the dialer, same as dialing to call someone, 'cept you don't have to push the "call" button
LOL Thanks. I figured it out right after I posted and noticed the little triangle at the top.

Engadget said:Verizon tells us that the Eris update to a "newer" Android is still in testing and hasn't yet been officially released, so we're taking all this to mean that there's been a slip-up along the line -- especially since this obviously isn't final software. In the meantime, we'd say Droid Eris users should probably back up their sets just to be safe.
