can i change the lock screen?

Have not seen this done yet as it is coded to work that way. Might be possible for a ROM to do it down the road, but currently no. Not with the default HTC Lockscreen.

You go to the market and few apps will let you do this.Lock 2.0 and alockLick

Correct, there are some apps that will change the lockscreen altogether, but I don't know of any that you keep the existing lockscreen and have the option to slide left to right.
