Wifes DROID x pushed the update and now its screwed up. Need help. Rooted via superoneclick for wirelessthe tether. other than that pretty much stock. After removing battery on button works and new gb screen comes up for about 30-45 secs but nothing works. Then screen goes dark except only top bar is on but will not pull down... on off button wont work either only makes screen goto sleep but when you hold it down to power off it does nothing works . only way to power off is to remove battery. What can I do... out of town and wife is freaking out. My rooted x2 updated also to 2.3.3 and seems to be working great scepter holding down period to get other quotation doesn't work... please help. Thanks in advance
 
Sounds like a factory reset is in her future.

Power the phone off, press and hold the home button, while holding the home button power on the phone. When the triangle comes up, press the search button.
That should take her to a recovery mode screen where she can factory reset.
 
everything on the phone IE Text messages, phone logs, app data
her pictures and everything will be saved. because they are on the sd card
 
Before you have her perform the reset, did you remove any of the preinstalled apps when you rooted the device?
 
pool shark is correct in doing the factory reset, there are mulitple ways of doing it

you can enter stock recovery and do it, and wipe cache when you are doing it as well and you should be fine. or you can use CWR and do a data wipe/cache wipe/ and Dalvik Cache wipe
