Can LauncherPro get any more awesome?

Anyone have an issue with changing wallpaper? Everything else works fine for me with launcherpro. but sometimes when I change wallpaper I get that pop up saying its changed. but it just reverts to the default HTC wallpaper...

Every now and then I get this, but not very often. I actually had it happen a couple of times before I ever used LP. Don't know what the deal is

In sense? Thats weird.. Its never really happened till one of the more recent LP updates for me.. and its like almost every time I switch wallpapers.. very annoying.

Yup with Sense.

Yea that would annoy me as well. I had to reboot to fix mine a couple of times. It hasn't done it in a while though. *knocks on wood*

I am however loving the red notifica icons on the icons :p !

Well I played w/LP last night and this morning. Awesome dock, but I just can't live w/o the HTC widgets I use. I use almost all of them and there aren't replacements for most. LP has tons of potential, but it's just not there yet for me. I think the dock is amazing, and if HTC would add that, HTC Sense would be perfect. I just find the widgets more important than the dock right now. Unless I'm missing something, that's really all LP offers over HTC Sense (other than customizing number of home screens and the 3D App drawer).

Either way, really great app.

it takes some time, but you can find ALOT of replacement apps/widgets that will do similar or the same functions as the HTC Sense ones do, but, I guess to each his own!
Which ones cant you find replacements for?

Of the HTC only ones, I use Favorites, Bookmarks, Google Search, HTC Music, Mobile Network, Profile, Airplane, GPS, BT, WiFi (I know the Power Source one does a few of these, I just hate the look of it), Calendar (although Jorte seemed cool), and the Weather/Clock one is more polished than the replacement I tried w/LP (Fancy Widget).

you know you can set alot of those up as shortcuts on LP, instead of widgets.
I like the look of sense widgets alot too, but I also know how much battery they use, so instead of loading the battery draining widgets, I had pretty much gone to just using the program shortcuts on my desktop, even before switching to LP..
Battery life went from about 6-7 hours to more like 14, and to me, I like the fact of going a full day without worrying about throwing it on a charger.
I'm awaiting a desktop charger/cradle I ordered, so I may go back to that once the phone can sit in a charging cradle during the day in my office.

Interesting. I'll keep it in mind if I decide to give LP another shot. I should note, however, that on my stock battery I usually get 30+ hours with moderate usage even with all my widgets. I even have more widgets from apps I didn't mention going. Thus, battery life is not a concern for me.

wow, 30 hours...how do you do that?

Well you have an EVO, so I can't say what I do will work for you, but basically auto-brightness off, brightness set at 40-50%, only sync apps I use, leave GPS/BT/WiFi off unless needed, screen timeout set to 30 seconds, and that's about it. Someone doubted my battery life in this thread, http://androidforums.com/accessorie...-liar-liar-your-pants-fire-9.html#post1047625, so I posted pics.

Can't say why I see such great battery life, but I do use my phone quite a bit throughout the day and have only once or twice had to charge it before 24 hours off the charger.

yeah, I noticed you have an INC; I had 3 and had to return them all for call quality issues

I use similar settings; I will reduce my screen time from 2 min to 30 secs..i leave wifi and gps on all the time, but otherwise we do similar settings.
thanks for the suggestions!

I have not tried ADW yet, but I do love me some LP! It's exactly what I want and all I need. The dev is excellent as well cheers to LP!

Yes, I recall you had Incredible troubles. Hope the EVO is treating you better. I will just note that GPS can be quite a battery killer, so unless you actually need it on 24/7, seriously consider using it as necessary (easy to toggle on/off w/the power source widget in LP).

here is the suite of widgets that includes the weather/time...called "Beautiful Widgets".
the time/weather one is called "Beautiful Home"..

I was tempted to pay for this app when I installed LP, but I saw some recent reviews saying the widgets were battery killers. Have you noticed this w/the Beautiful Widgets?

evo is fantastic; i loved the inc too, but couldnt make phone calls!
OK, I will look for a GPS widget for LP..thanks for the suggestion!

No, because you actually arent "running" them unless you are turning them on or off, so I doubt they hurt the battery life at all..

The dev's website gives nearly no information. Can you tell me what widgets it includes other than the weather? Maybe this would solve my lack of widgets problem w/LP.

bluetooth, brightness, gps, weather/time, plane mode, silent, smaller home, vibrate, wifi

almost everything you could want, except for 4G, which you dont need yet with Verizon!:D

yes, in the beautiful widgets pack, the widget called "home" is the one that offers time and weather screens; there are some built in, and there is a tab that lets you pick/download TONS of "other" "themes for the time/weather...this looks like one that has been downloaded through that option..
Its free to download any of them, so you can try several out to see what you like the best..
Definitely worth the 2 bucks for the "set" of Beautiful Widgets...

that wallpaper and other stuff is NOT part of the Beautiful Widget "pack"

Are the car and star widgets, do you know? If so, are they from BW?

Hi Seattle the Time/weather.date up top is beautiful smaller home part of the beautiful widgets paid app. I click on the time and it takes me to my clock app/alarm/stopwatch etc... If I click the date it takes me to my calender. If I click the weather it brings me to a 3 day forecast in which I can click again and it takes me to Weather Channel. It is very customizable.

The battery widget is Battery Life free in market. The little star and car icon are from Minimum Icon Pack free in market. I use Folder organizer in market to group several programs into those icons. I just got bored with all the widgets and use 2 screens with 2 widgets I like a clean layout. Wallpaper is from Zedge I believe. This is a picture of when I tap the car icon. I also use Quick Desk check it out.
