Root Can No Longer Root?!

I got my Optimus M on Dec 27th--so only about 10 days ago as of this writing. That first week was rather intense--I learned a LOT about the phone!

I also got it rooted, like, on day TWO. :)

I haven't attempted to root for several days, and when I tried this morning following this procedure, it doesn't seem to be happening any more:

  • Applications/Development/USB debugging mode [on]
  • Run Z4root - select "Temporary Root" ['success' indicated]
  • Start Terminal Emulator and enter 'su'

At this point is says (the dreaded) "permission denied"

What could have changed over the last 5 days? Or have I forgotten a step or procedure?

I've rebooted, rerun Z4 several times...tried it all under different launchers...

I'm kinda out of ideas at this point...

Being a noob, I thought the temporary option a 'safer' choice. Although Z4 claims to be able to DEroot, doesn't it?

[edit] The 'permanent' option seems to have worked! :)
(The 'temp' function was working great--wonder why it stopped?)

Because your Android got fed up of being teased with root powers and said WTF? I love being root. If I could root all the time, I would... I am free as root...
I got a plan to stay root. I think I have a problem. Nawh I AM ROOT!!!
