Help Can someone explain what LauncherPro is?

I keep reading where a lot of you are switching to this because you think it's better. What will it do to my phone? (Think LauncherPro for dummies, not tech savy...) If I don't like it, would it be hard to switch back?

It's an application. Switching back is as easy as uninstalling the application.

It's by far better IMO. It gives your phone a static dock (couple apps at the bottom of every page) as well as some cool features such as choosing the amount of home screens you want (1-7) as well as which you want to be the main screen. This also allows you to pinch-to-zoom the home screens as seen in HTC Sense.

It's basically a skin for android, much like HTC Sense is. It's free for now, it's easy to use, and i believe it looks way better.

A slight issue is that the Motorola apps wont be resize-able on the Launcher Pro home (for now, the editor is always working hard to improve it, so probably won't be long).

Thanks! Okay...now that I have it, where did all my apps go? lol

You need to put them on the home screens (which you can have from 1 to 7 screens) just long press on the screen and select what you want. If you don't want it there just long press on the icon, once it lights up drag it to the bottom to get rid of it.

Ive installed it on my device twice and couldn't get it the way I liked it. I think I just need some more practice.

Don't uninstall it, just remove the stuff you put on the screens and start over. Long press on the item you want to remove and drag it to the bottom, then it's gone.

I only have 3. How do I get 7?

That's me, the app bin is the button in the center. There is a sticky in the tips section that I wrote up on how to use custom icon.

You can also used a themed version by Fabolous. It makes it so you can still have the circular icon and same icons for the long press menu. Here is the link
com.fede.launcher.apk
If you are currently running LP you must uninstall it first
Then you can install this using Astro

I saw that the other day, I like my little droids...lol. Thanks though.

This doesn't effect your ability to use better cut it just makes it so the app drawer is still circular and the long press menu has the same icons.
So here is my question, When you use LP on the X do you still have the circular app drawer because I really don't know:)

No, the stock app drawer icon, in launcher pro, is a square broken up into 9 sections. I changed mine to a little droid holding a bunch of app icons.

Oh right, now I remember that.:D Thanks for letting me know though

I just installed it and am very impressed! One question - how can I make the gmail icon in the dock show the number of emails? I selected it in the settings, but it's not showing up?

How do I keep Launcher Pro as my default? I have Home Switcher and have it set, but every time I hit home it goes back to stock and I have to go into preferences to restart LP.
