I myself(or anyone else here too) would be more inclined to help if you went about asking in a different matter.

Coming into the forums and making a blanket statement like that is pretty much a slap in the face at all of us and especially the Devs and Mods that make this forum a great source of HELP AND INFO about the Esteem.

If you do want help PM me and I will see if I can't walk you through it, the guide though is pretty simple to follow and if you don't understand it then re-read it until you do, ask questions help is here as long as you are respectful about asking for it.

I just pray I dont brick this thing. I bought my esteem earlier today... im in the fam!! I think i also had a problem with my phone installing drivers.... *shurgs*

I have gotten to the point where you right click on VS910.dll to register but there is no register option I have gone through this process twice now and used the links in the tutorial each time is there a way that the linked version of the .dll file is corrupted?

I could really use any advice some one could give me.

I got a new .dll register/unregister tool so I have the option to register VS910.dll now the problem is when I try to register I am getting an error

Regserv32

module failed to load.

make sure binary is stored at a specified path or debug it to check for problems.

the specific module cannot be found.

Has this happened to anyone else? I feel like im taking one step forward and two back to get rooted.

Windows Xp is what you are running?

No I am running Windows 7 64 bit tried erasing everything and starting fresh again and still got the error when it came time to register VS910. Checked my permissions, rebooted and tried again same message not sure whats going on here.

I spent sometime trouble shooting and im downgrading now does anyone have a preference for root install with back up. Pros and cons of rzr and cwr?

I would advise to due a disk cleanup....make user account controls off...turn them back on..then turn off again.(probably will promt to reboot again).
Close out any other programs you have running on cpu(that start at boot)...possible conflict somewhere...try to register the file again.

Thank you again gbiggie, it was along the lines of what you said I had to change the user controls and reboot several times and I closed and blocked out any unnecessary programs that I didn't need after the boot. I am know happily running Gingersteem Extreme and haven't put the phone down since I flashed the rom so thank you again.
