Help Can the Sony Xperia S be upgraded to Android 4

Hello.

I am looking to replace my iPhone 4 with a Sony Experia S. I know the phone comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But can it be upgraded to run Ice Cream Sandwhich?

I don't know how android upgrades work so please excuse my question.

Sony will be releasing an official update to Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia S but it's not available yet. Expected release date is June/July.
 
Do it.... As above with the update to 4.0 really but all, and I mean all of my friends with iPhone 4 now want the xperia s...

Plus skyvi Androids version of Siri works rather well on it compared to other mates Android phones.
 
I also have the Xperia S, nice bit of kit & very much like urself nesser, i have been searchin for android 4 release date to no avail :(

hopefully the upgrade will correct the battery issues which is my only complaint about this handset.
