Help can the Vibrant make calls using wifi?

Its not a free wifi calling feature. Its meant to simply route your calls over the internet if you have bad cellular signal. It still routes the calls through t mobiles network so you will be charged minutes.

think of it this way. By using wifi calling you effectively use your wireless router as a cell tower.
Right on. I thought that was the deal, but wasnt sure. Doesnt benefit me much considering I get great signal anywhere I go in Tampa. Thanks for the reply though. :)

When I switched from my Blackberry 8900 to the Vibcant, I was so miffed that it didn't have UMA, I almost returned it but I was so in love with it. 2.2 has been a savior for me to have wifi/UMA back again.

Question, I noticed that the cell signal bars go away and even the signal widget goes to -113, like no signal. Would we surmise that it turns the cell chip off ? or just the antenna ? Possible little power savings in the house when using wifi ?

agree with woofercub since 2.2 they added the option to do UMA [wifi- calling and recieving] at work its a lifesaver since im in a part of a building which is considered a deadzone for any network ... i wanna see the verizon guy come here and see if he has service ;p
