I took my screen protector off in TJ and I'm paying for it ever since. Verizon gave me a cream to rub on it daily though, and i have to tell everyone that uses my phone b4 they put it close to their lips.

Screen protector isn't necessary if you're careful. I would suggest getting a case that covers the screen for when the phone is not being used and is in a pocket or something though. I had a Nexus One from the beginning of February to the beginning of June and I didn't use a screen protector, just kept it in the sleeve it came with whenever it wasn't in use. The screen looked the same as it did when I first got it.
