Root Cannot get to recovery. Volume down broken.

Hey I have an Evo 4g and .I want to root it, but I cannot do this without the volume down button. Without it, I cannot get to the recovery mode. I saw a similar post on the forums and they were told to use quickboot and ROM manager. You cannot use these without root access.

Is there any other way to get to the recovery mode without root access and a volume down button?

Quick boot will get you to recovery mode but you need root first. If you're on gingerbread 2.3.3 then you can't root yet until the devs find n exploit.

yeah you need to be rooted first. hopefully you are not on gingerbread. before you can do everything. you should be able to do everything from your computer with adb (android debug bridge). ADB – Easy Tutorial | xda-developers.
