Root Cannot install ICS based ROMS.

My HTC Evo V has a mind of its own it seems. When I had ICS based ROMs installed on my Evo ( unSENSEable and Mobster Remix ) I had trouble trying to install CM10.1. Didn't matter that I had 1.50 Hboot and the latest OTA firmware, my HTC would bootloop after flashing CM10.1, but it would load the ICS Roms just fine. I then figured out that the recovery was in safe mode and wasn't able to access the entire NAND as it flashed. I then made sure the recovery wasn't in safe mode and reflashed the hacked 1.50 Hboot and OTA firmwares and it finally booted CM10.1 and my HTC Evo was greeted to Jelly Bean. Now I want to restore my ICS backup of unSENSEABLE, or install a clean partition or install a clean partition of Mobster Remix and my HTC Evo just continues to boot loop regardless of the HBoot. Whether it is 1.04 ENG, the normal 1.04 or the hacked 1.50, it always bootloops. I was running ICS perfectly fine on those HBoots, why is it now not working? Am I stuck on Jelly Bean? Is there a file on the SD card that's triggering this?

Also, yes, I've checked to make sure the recovery was not in safe mode, re-flashed the HBoot and OTA firmwares various times and wiped the delvik+cache and format all partitions except SD atleast a dozen times.

Please help! :o

I'm guessing it's a compatibility issue. Most ICS roms require hboot 1.57 or 1.58. Some of them are made to work with both 1.5 and newer but many require the upgraded hboot.

I would try using the stock hboot or the patched version of the newer hboot... You can find them all here: http://androidforums.com/cdma-evo-3d-all-things-root/648902-radios-hboot-firmware-all-downloads.html

Also, be careful flashing so many hboots! And make sure you're verifying the integrity of the download with an md5 checker. One bad bootloader flash and you won't be flashing anything. ;)
