Root cannot load 'recovery.img'

i unlocked my evo 4g and now im working on rooting it.
every time i get to step 11 following these instructions HOW TO ROOT WITH HBOOT 2.18.0001 s-on 2.3.5...+ s-off revolutionary - xda-developers my command prompt says cannot load recovery.img

how do i get this to work?

and are you using the android folder you created with HTCdev?

also you can try this guide:

skip down to the second post and try using android flasher. it might be easier.

I know this is an old thread but I was having the same problems and I found the answer by changing the name on my recovery-twrp-shooter-1.1.1.img

I misread it in the at the start and renamed it recovery.img when it should have been just recovery

I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
