Help "Cannot Play Video" error....Ideas?

I am getting an almost constant error when I play videos on my Evo. The error reads "Cannot Play Video" and below it says "Sorry, this video cannot be played". Anyone else have this issue?

this has fixed it for most

also check out the sirius/xm not working thread. there are some proxy settings that you can remove that may fix the issue as well

Mr. Ed....Is it called something else now? I searched VPlayer Beta and it brought me to VPlayer Donation? Is it the same thing?

That's the way it looks on the market. If it will fix my video issues, I don't mind paying a few bucks.

you might try the proxy settings first. that costs you nothing but a few minutes of time

1) Dial ##3282#
2) Choose Edit Mode
3) Enter MSL
4) Choose Advanced
5) Change HTTP PD Proxy Port to: 0
6) Change HTTP PD Proxy Address to: 0.0.0.0

I am a newbie....whats my "msl"?

You can get your MSL by calling your carrier. It's a 6 digit lock code for this procedure.

I installed the VPlayer....the videos are not being interupted but they are choppy. Should I try the other fix?

Yeah. I had the same issue earlier today and the data restore described above fixed it.

Are you running a custom rom at all?

No Sir! I have a stock EVO....I am afraid of rooting, if that's what it's called....

Ok, just curious. I knew a few have been having web issues due to an ad blocker. Only reason I asked. Although, rooting is badass : P

hey I have the same problem as well, but it doesn't only occur when playing fb videos, it doesn.t play youtube, it doesn't even play videos I add to the memory card, it just says "Sorry this video cannot be played", please guys, wot am I supposed to do ?

Those are two completely different issues. From the sd card they have to be formatted correctly I.e. the proper codec . Search" handbrake" and you will find some threads regarding conversion and proper format. I am not in a spot rmwhere I can find and post the links.

Watching youtube may be fixed by removing the proxy.

Guys it has been stated that if you call sprint and let them know that you need the streaming media fix that they will push an update to your phone that will remove your proxy settings. Otherwise you will need to do it manually (which if you are not rooted will still require a call to sprint to get your msl )
