Root Cannot restore a nandroid backup

I have tried a few nandroid backups and I have tried the stock backup from this forum, and no matter what I do, I always get:

Restoring : .

Error : run 'nandroid-mobile.sh restore' via adb
!

What am I doing wrong? I have googled it and everyone says there is a problem with the nandroid backup but there isn't.

I found the problem, when I run it through adb, it says:

error: /sdcard/nandroid/mem=223M/BCDAS-20101209-2225/nandroid.md5 not found, can
not verify backup data

I am using the same backup and restore as everyone else...

Edit x2:
I formatted the SD card with android (not the recovery) and just did a backup to see if it would flash... and it works!!! I tried formatting with the recovery before this and it failed. Maybe that is the secret.

Im glad that you posted this because I have had the same freakin problem. I asked in the IRC chat and noone had any idea what it was...I probably shouldnt be flashing anything because if something goes wrong I'm pretty screwed. I remember once I got the error and someone gave me the suggestion that I should just charge my phone to 100 percent then give it a shot and it worked once but not since then...I have no idea

I would just use clockwork for the time being until someone can figure this out...just to be safe

Found the answer, you have to format the SD card with android and then it will work! Updated first post...

First copy all the contents of your sd card to a folder on your computer. (For a backup)

Then go to Settings > SD card & phone storage > Unmount SD card.
Then press Format SD card.

Now, reboot to recovery and try making a nandroid backup. Then restore it to see if it works. It worked for me and it seems like we have the same problem.

Ok Here's how it works. If your phone is at 20% or less charge then You will NOT be able to restore your Nandroid. Simply Plug your phone in and the you will be able to restore.
This is a fail safe mechanism built in so that you will not brick your phone while loading a nandroid backup. Here's the reason if your phone were to die when you were doing a restore. Most likely you would be bricked. In order for this not to happen this 20% fail safe was put in place.

Well, I have this exact same problem and can't restore a nandroid backup. I've tried the solution above with formatting the SD card and it still didn't work. Anyone else have an idea?
